Destination Wedding Options
Paula & Tom
March 2023
Dreams Natura Resort & Spa
Quintana Roo, Mexico
8 Restaurants and 6 bars including a swim up bar
Only 15 minutes from the airport
This would be my top pick for your wedding location. It checks all the boxes. It is a new resort, just opened last year. Very modern style for the buildings and rooms but the grounds The beach is very nice and even with the seaweed issue Mexico has been having they do their best to keep it cleaned off the beach.

I know one of your main concerns is that when you get to the resort it will not live up to what you have seen in pictures, and you will be disappointed. So, I wanted to find some actual videos that some other agents have made while they were there. Click here for resort tour by Harr Travel, it really shows the entire resort, and it was just filmed last year right before they opened.
Also, to see what the rooms will look like, here is his tour of the Master Suite. While we most likely will not book this exact room this will let you see the style of the room at the resort. I love them!
Estimated cost for flight and 7 nights: $4500 – 5500 (two travelers)
Dreams Riviera Cancun
Puerto Morelos, Mexico
8 Restaurants and 6 Bars
20 minute driver from the Cancun airport

This would be my second choice for your wedding location. This is just 9 miles or so south of Dreams Natura. Still on a very nice beach. This resort is a little older, built in 2009, so will have some wear and tear compared to the other one. Still a very nice resort with plenty of dining options and a very nice infinity pool with a swim up bar overlooking the beach and ocean.

Check out the video of the resort here. You will notice the difference in décor from the new build to this resort being 13 years older, however it is still a very nice resort with a great beach!

Estimated cost for flights and 7 nights: $4500-5000 (two travelers)
Hard Rock Hotel Cancun
Cancun, Mexico - Hotel Strip
6 Restaurants and 6 Bars on Property
10 Minutes from the Cancun Airport
Located on the Hotel Strip
Close to off property shopping, restaurants and bars
This would be my third choice for a wedding location in Mexico. This resort is right on the hotel strip in Cancun. Only about a 10 min drive from the airport. The resort has 601 rooms but does not feel big. It has one huge main pool with two swim up bars that overlooks the beach and ocean. The beach here is very nice. The only issue I have with this resort is that the spring break vibe may be more noticeable at this resort than the other two. Hard Rock is known for their music and parties, and they tend to cater to those crowds.

The other con of this resort is that some of their rooms have a view of the lagoon instead of the ocean, so basically you are looking at the parking lot and the street with the lagoon behind that. Other than that, I think the rooms are pretty nice for it being a “older” hotel

With 2314 rooms at Moon Palace and an additional 1316 rooms at The Grand, this is going to be the largest resort that we look at. It is split between three sections, the Nizuc section, the Sunrise section and The Grand. There will be a lot of walking on this resort, they do have shuttles to make it easier in some areas.

Both Nizuc and Sunrise areas have full access to the other, however guests in these areas will not have access to The Grand unless you purchase a day pass. There is no shortage of dining and bar options in either section.

Top pros about Moon Palace are the service and the food. Both are top notch, there are a ton of pools and a huge beach!
The things I would worry about with this resort is how massive it is as well as the decor. in Nizuc and Sunrise sections you are going to have older buildings and dated decor. The Grand is newer but is going to be much more expensive.

Estimated cost for flight and 7 nights:
Starting at $5660 for lead in room at Moon Palace

Starting at $7200 for lead in room at Moon Palace The Grand
Azul Beach Resort Negril
Negril, Jamaica
9 Restaurants and 9 Bars
90 minute drive from Montego Bay airport
This would be my first choice if we decide on Jamaica for the destination. This resort is on the famous Seven-Mile beach, which is amazing!

They pride themselves on being gourmet inclusive, so the food here is going to be very good with a huge selection of restaurants to choose from.

The Karisma brand is also known for their weddings. They do go above and beyond to make you feel like you are the only one that matters on your wedding day

This is not the best video, but it does give you an accurate look at the beach and what the resort and rooms are going to look like, click here

Royalton Negril
Negril, Jamaica
9 Restaurants and 9 Bars
90 minute drive from Montego Bay airport
This would be my second choice for a wedding location in Jamaica. This resort opened in 2017, so it is still pretty new. The rooms are very modern, exactly what you are wanting in décor. The whole resort has that feel, the sleek luxurious feel.

The beach is split up here, so right out from the main resort area as well as the adult section there is a rocky beach, but then if you do go down towards the “diamond club” rooms you will find the long stretch of nice beach area that you don’t see in a lot of their pictures.

The food here is really good and they have a wide variety to choose from! It is kind of a large resort, but there is one main walkway through the whole thing, so it’s easy to get to everything.

Moon Palace Jamaica
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
731 Rooms at Moon Palace Jamaica, so it's a decent sized resort. Built in 1974, it has had many upgrades throughout the years, but will still be a little dated.

There are two cove like beaches on this property, which does calm the water, but will not have the long walk on the beach feel.

It is really close to major attractions like Dunn's River Falls, The Blue Hole, Mystic Mountain

Again, with Palace Resorts, their main focus is on top service for their guests, and you will definitely get that at this resort just like the others.
